Hyderabadi Haleem

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg mutton
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup fried onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste
  • 5 to 6 cloves
  • 3 to 4 cinnamon
  • 5 to 6 green chillies
  • 4 to 5 cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon mace powder
  • 1/2 cup masoor dal
  • 1/2 cup barley
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 250 gms wheat
  • 1/2 cup urad dal(mash dal) 
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Some fried cashew nuts
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • Some coriander leaves
  • Some mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

How to prepare Hyderabadi Haleem:

  • Take a cooker add mutton, oil, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, 2 green chillies, curd, ginger and garlic paste and cook it until the meat is fully cooked.
  • Meanwhile in a pan roast the lentils, wheat, cardamom, cinnamon, mace powder, cloves and rice on a medium heat.
  • Once all the ingredients are done let it cool and blend it in a mixer.
  • In another cooker add all the blended mixer and water and cook it for 30 min on a medium heat.
  • Once the meat is cooked, mash it  and mix it with the wheat mixture, cook for another 15 min.
  • Mix it thoroughly and add garam masala powder, coriander leaves, mint leaves, lemon juice.
  • Serve it with fried onions and fried cashewnuts.

Tadaahh your yummy hyderabadi haleem is ready to serve...
