Chickpeas Pickle


Ingredients:

  • 3 cups chickpeas
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 4 to 5 dry red chillies
  • 3 tbsp lemon
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 30 gms cumin seeds
  • 10gms mustard seeds(raayi)
  • 5gms fenugreek seeds(methi)
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida(hing)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds(sounf)

How to prepare Chick Peas Pickle Recipe:
  • Soak chickpeas overnight, remove all the excess water and pressure cook it for 10 min.
  • In a pan add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chillies and saute it until the colour changes.
  • In a blender grind all the sauted ingredients and make a fine powder.
  • Preheat oil in a pan, add garlic paste cook it for 2 min and switch off the gas.
  • Add the grinded mixture into the pan, add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, asafoetida, fennel seeds and  lemon juice.
  • Finally add cooked chickpeas into the mixture and mix it thoroughly.
You can consume the chickpeas pickle the next day...
