Ingredients:
- 250 gms aloo(potatoes)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 to 4 cardomom
- 2 to3 cloves
- 2 to 3 bay leaves
- A pinch of pepper powder
- 1/4 cup tomato
- 1/4 cup curd
- Few coriander leaves
- FOR GRAVY:
- 1 large onion
- 1/2 teaspoon garammasala powder
- 2 red dry chillies
- 2 tbsp oil
- Few cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste
- A pinch of ground mace powder
How to prepare Dum Aloo Recipe:
- Pierce aloo(potato) with a fork all over it and soak it with little salt for 3hrs.
- Dry it with a cloth and take a kadai, pour oil to the half and deep fry the potatoes until golden brown and keep aside.
- In another pan, pour 2 tbsp oil and fry the chopped onions until done, add other ingredients except tomato and curd and cook it 5 min
- Grind the GRAVY ingredients to form a smooth paste and stir it into the onions.
- If all the ingredients are cooked evenly add tomato and curd.
- Cook it for another 5 min.
- Lastly add garam masala powder and coriander leaves, simmer it for 2 min.
Taddahh your dum aloo is ready to serve, have it with paratha or chapati.
