Dum Aloo Recipe


Ingredients:
  • 250 gms aloo(potatoes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 to 4 cardomom
  • 2 to3  cloves
  • 2 to 3 bay leaves
  • A pinch of pepper powder
  • 1/4 cup tomato
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • Few coriander leaves
  • FOR GRAVY:
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garammasala powder
  • 2 red dry chillies
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Few cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste
  • A pinch of ground mace powder
How to prepare Dum Aloo Recipe:
  • Pierce aloo(potato) with a fork all over it and soak it with little salt for 3hrs.
  • Dry it with a cloth and take a kadai, pour oil to the half and deep fry the potatoes until golden brown and keep aside.
  • In another pan, pour 2 tbsp oil and fry the chopped onions until done, add other ingredients except tomato and curd and cook it 5 min
  • Grind the GRAVY ingredients to form a smooth paste and stir it into the onions.
  • If all the ingredients are cooked evenly add tomato and curd.
  • Cook it for another 5 min.
  • Lastly add garam masala powder and coriander leaves, simmer it for 2 min.
Taddahh your dum aloo is ready to serve, have it with paratha or chapati.
